World Hepatitis Day: Hepatitis can range from mild and self-limiting to severe and chronic. In some cases, the liver can heal and return to normal function on its own with supportive care. However, chronic hepatitis, particularly viral hepatitis, can lead to more serious complications, such as liver cirrhosis (scarring of the liver), liver failure, and hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer).
